Hindrances to Worship in My Life

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 23. In our text today we see Young Joash becoming King and reestablishing worship at the temple to follow in the vision of King David...to honor the Lord. In making application we see the Easter Celebration taking place in our lives yesterday and for many Christians a reconnection with God's Church. Just as Joash experienced with the nation of God - there are many things we allow in our lives that can hinder our relationship and worship. For some the hindrances are entertainment and functions, others it is work, some slothfulness, the list goes on and on. The bottom line is that we allow things to hinder us from Church attendance and Worship we see our lives become weak. How about you? Do you allow things to distract you from the nourishment attained though worship at the House of God? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Joash to remember to not let anything hinder us from Worshiping and attending the House of God.

Wrong Paths

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 22. In our text today we see Ahaziah ruling Judah before passing on to Athaliah. What catches my eye is how Ahaziah sought advice from wicked men which led to his destruction and death. In making application we see the problem from listing to ungodly council. It leads down a path away from God instead of leading us to God. Today the book stores are full of self-help books that will also lead us down lifes wrong paths. It is always wise to follow the instruction book of the one who made you and loves you, the Bible. When we follow God's instructions we are lead to a path that is the best for us. How about you? Do you follow the instructions of your maker? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Ahaziah to remember to follow the Lord's instructions verses following the wrong paths of others.

A Payday Someday

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 21. In our text today we see Jehoshaphat passing away and Jehoram ruling Judah. Now Jehoram rules Judah and allows sin to rule his life. As a result he died a slow and painful death. In making application we see the principle of our sin finding us out. There is pleasure in sin for a season but there will be a payday someday. This should motivate us to reach out to the lost with the Gospel while there is time to repent before it is eternally to late. Today it is not politically correct to speak out on public sinful issues but the Lord has instructed us to warn the lost. How about you? Does your knowledge of sinners spending eternity in Hell for eternity motivate you to speak out on public sin? Let us learn from out text today to let everyone know that when it comes to sin - there will be a payday someday.

Let the Lord Fight Your Battles

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 20. In our text today we see Jehoshaphat defeats Moab and Ammon. What catches my eye is how the Lord spoke through Jahaziel in verse 15 to "Be not Afraid...for the battle is not yours, but God's". In making application we see that battles we face everyday are also the Lord's. We tend to forget, that as Christians, we have Christ living in us and try to fight the enemy in our flesh. As we mature as Christians we need to understand to let the Lord fight our battles by praying and giving control to HIM. How about you? Do you attempt to fight the enemy in your flesh? Let us learn from our text today and the instruction of Jahaziel to remember the battle is the Lord's and not ours - so let the Lord fight our battles.

A Blueprint for Successful Leadership

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 19. In our text today we see Jehoshaphat being rebuked by Jehu and his appointment of Judges. In his choosing leaders he gave them specific advice of seeking the Lord, being

honest, impartial, faithful, morally right, and serving God rather than men. In making application we see the blueprint of successful leadership today. Leaders are to be honest, impartial, faithful, morally right, and should serve God looking to HIM for guidance. Our leadership in government today has strayed far from the example given in the Bible but we need to teach and train our future leaders the importance of these principles to guide our nation. How about you? Do you see the pattern for successful leadership? Let us learn from our text today and the example of Jehoshaphat to see the blueprint for successful leadership is to apply the instructions of the Bible to our lives.

Don't Run with Evil

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 18. In our text today we see Jehoshaphat joins forces with Ahab as he arranged his son to marry Ahab's daughter. Jehosaphet thought he could control the situation but this alliance proved costly as he encountered the wrath of God, lost his grandson, and the evil practices of Israel came to Judah. In making application we see that we can't allow evil in our lives. If we do we can expect the same results of God's judgement, personal loss, and an evil effect on those you love. It reminds me of my youth and life in high school. The popular people were the "bad kids" and in making a few of them my friends I found myself having a bad influence rubbing off on me. I felt a distance from my Lord and I was placed in situations that could have harmed me. It taught me that I could not run with the wrong crowd. How about you? Do you see that you can not associate with evil without it effecting your life? Let us learn from out text today and the life of Jehosaphet to remember that we cannot allow evil in our lives.

THE WORD OF GOD

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 17. In our text today we see Jehoshaphat ruling Judah as Asa has past. The successful reign of Jehoshaphat was due to his getting the WORD OF GOD in the peoples hands. Once they understood the LORD'S WILL they followed HIM. In making application we see the importance of reading the WORD OF GOD in our lives. It gives us instruction and a vision for a victorious Christian life. This also is our Ministries vision and passion because faith cometh by hearing and hearing from the WORD OF GOD. How about you? Do you read and follow the instructions from THE WORD OF GOD? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Jehoshaphat as we see that our blessings in life come from reading and following the instructions from THE WORD OF GOD.

Don't Forget the Lord

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 16. In our text today we see Asa forget the Lord when faced with another battle. When the Lord sent a messenger to Asa he even through him in jail. Asa forgetting the Lord even affected him when seeking help for his ailing health which resulted in an early death. In making application we see that we too can forget God. We can easily forget what the Lord has done for us. The danger in this is that we will look toward man instead of the Lord when we face battles in our lives. The Lord gave his people feasts to remember the past victories, he told them to make memorials to remember what God has done, and we too need to remember what the Lord has done in any way possible. I have seen some have a spiritual birthday party to remember the day they were saved, keeping a journal, making a memorial around the home, etc... How about you? Do you forget what the Lord has done for you? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Asa to not forget what the Lord has done in your life.

Victory Over a Sinful Past

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 15. In our text today we see Asa rebuilds the altar as he drives out the idols that his father failed to remove. In making application we see that we can have victory over past family failures. We don't have to continue in the sinful struggles of our past generations. Many of us have family sins that seem to continue from generation to generation. As Christians we don't have to follow in our fathers footsteps. There is freedom and victory in Christ as when HE moves in we see the chains broken of past. How about you? Do you see generational sin in your family? Let us learn from our text today and the example of Asa to be reminded that the sins of the past and our former generations are broken when we follow the Lord.

It is Always too Soon to Quit

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 14. In our text today we see that Abijah has passed and now Asa his son is King of Judah. Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord and when faced with an impossible battle he did not quit but rather called upon the Lord and the Lord delivered them over the Ethiopians. In making application we see when fighting the Spiritual battles of life we must have realize that the Lord is in control and we are not to quit - but have faith in the Lord. It reminds me of a saying from a friend of mine, "It is always too soon to quit" The Lord is in the business of making the impossible - possible. My friend experienced this in world war 2 when his company faced impossible odds to build boats that helped us win the war. He said the task of building these boats were impossible but he didn't quit, he prayed and the Lord allowed his company to do the impossible. He said later, what if we did quit? - what if we had lost our faith in the Lord? Would we have won the war? This thought is the slogan that he uses today to encourage me when things seem impossible. "It is always to soon to quit". How about you? Are you facing obstacles that seem to be impossible? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Asa to remember that is - Always too soon to quit.

Pet Sins

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 13. In our text today we see the son of Rehoboam, now King Abijah defeat Jeroboam. We see that Jeroboam's loss was attributed to the sin of the Golden Calves which the army worshiped and carried around with them. In making application we see how our sin can keep the Lord from working in our lives. Today we excuse sin as "white lies" or "pet sins" but the truth is sin is sin and when we allow sin in our life it hinders the power and precence Of the Holy Sporit from flowing in our lives. It makes me think of what God could do in and through our lives if we would repent of these "little" sins so the Lord could do mighty things through us. How about you? Do you have "pet" sins that are keeping the Lord from working in our lives? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Jeroboam to repent of our "pet" sins so the Lord can have liberty to work in and through us.

A Pattern of Destruction

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 12. In our text today we see Egypt conquering Jerusalem as Rehoboam turned his back on God's instruction and Egypt took control of capitol of the nation of God. In making application we see a picture in our text today. Egypt is a picture of the World, Jerusalem is picture of the Heart, and if we do as Rehoboam did and turn our back on the Word of God - then we see the picture of our text today: The World will capture your heart that will lead you to a path of destruction. Our Chapter ends in the Death of Rehoboam and we see the pattern of destruction which ends in death. How about you? Do you see the picture of our text today as a pattern of destruction? Let us learn from out text today to hold fast to the Instruction of God's Word, lest we too have our hearts go the way of the World, which will direct us into sin, and ultimately our destruction and death.

Exposing Your Heart

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 11. In our text today we see Israel and Judah are now 2 divided kingdoms. What catches my eye is how the Lord allowed the split of His chosen nation. Instead of removing Rehoboam as the driving force between the split the Lord allowed the hearts of the nation to be exposed. In the days to come we see a constant battle between worshiping pagan gods and the one true God. In making application we see a glimpse into why God may allow many divisions in families, Churches, and even nations today. To Expose Our Sinful Hearts. At the base of any division is a heart that is far from God. Until that heart is exposed it cannot come to a place of repentance. God does not force His Will on any of us, He has made a way for us to have our sins forgiven through Jesus-Christ but we must receive this free gift. It is a loving God that allows this to unfold. It is not His will that any of us should perish but all to come to repentance. How about you? Have you been involved in a division between you and others? Let us learn from our text today to see the Lord allows division in our lives to to expose the hearts involved so all can come to repentance.

Greed

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd Chronicles Chapter 10. In our text today we see the nation of Israel split apart as Rehoboam speaks roughly to the people and the northern tribes revolt. What catches my eye is the Greed of Rehoboam. He inherited the richest, most powerful kingdom in the world but still pressed the people to a point of division. In his quest for more he lost it all. In making application we see the principle of Greed play out in our lives. In the U.S. the poorest person is rich in many countries having food, water, shelter, and healthcare. The middle class and the rich have more than enough to sustain themselves but for the "toys" of this world they sacrifice their families and relationships for the sake of Greed. In wanting it all many loose it all. Many divorces and family breakups have the root of Greed at the base of this tragedy. Like Rehoboam we really have it all, so lets not let Greed have a place in our lives which will ultimately destroy what is really important in our lives. How about you? Do you see the enticement of Greed in you life? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Rehoboam to remember that Greed separates us from what is really important in our lives.

Reflecting the Lord's Love in our Lives

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 9. In our text today we see the visit of the Queen of Sheba, the greatness of Solomon's life, to finally Solomon's death. What catches my eye is how others, like the Queen of Sheba, noticed the Lord working through Solomon. The evidence of a fruitful and faithful life are the blessings of wealth and wisdom in his life. In making application we see that when we serve the Lord others will see the Lord in our lives. This is so important when it comes to witnessing to others and soul winning. The lost are looking for something real in others lives and when they see the Lord in us they understand that the Lord is real. How about you? Do others see the Lord in you life? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Solomon to be reminded to let the Lord love be reflected in our lives.

Instructions for Living

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 8. In our text today we see how Solomon had followed the creation of the Temple to the letter of the law. When is came to his own life and the selection of his wives he went totally in contradiction to God's instruction choosing wives that had false Gods. In making application we see that we are to follow the instruction for our personal lives just as we do for our lives in public. The Bible is full of instruction for who to marry, how to handle your finances, and relationships with family, friends, and even enemies. The Bible is more that just a Historical book but also a book on Life's Instructions and what choices to make. How about You? Do you follow the Lord's instructions for Marriage and every aspect of your life? Let us learn from Solomon's good choices as well as his mistakes to be reminded that the Bible is our instruction book for life's choices.

Repentance

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 7. In our text today we see the Glory of God filling the temple as fire comes down and consumes the sacrifice. We also see God speaking to Solomon telling him he heard his prayer and gives us a precept for prayer in verse 14 that if we humble ourselves, pray, seek Him, and repent, then will God hear our prayers and heal our land. In making application we see the word that has left many of our Churches, Repentance. We must turn from our sin for the Lord to hear us. It is essential for our Prayers being answered and our Salvation. How about you? Have you Repented of your sin to have your Prayers heard and ultimately answered? Let us learn from our text today as God gives us examples of His Glory and How our Prayers will be heard and Answered through our Repentance.

A House of Prayer

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 6. In our text today we see the Temple dedicated with Solomon's Prayer. In this prayer he prayed for those effected by crime, enemy attacks, drought, famine, the influx of foreigners, war, and sin. Solomon communicated the needs of the people to our God of which this Temple was constructed to Glorify. In making application we see a major purpose for the House of God. It should be a House of Prayer. A gathering place for the people of God to Worship God lifting their hearts and voices in unity. How about you? Do you regularly attend Church for Worship and Prayer? Let us learn from our text today, the life of Solomon, and the dedication of the Temple to be reminded that we need Church, and it should be a House of Prayer.

The Indwelling Holy Spirit
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 5. In our text today we see the completion of the Temple, Solomon dedicating the Temple, and the Ark of the Covenant being placed in the Temple. What catches my eye is when the Ark was placed in the temple, the temple filled with smoke as a sign of God's presence and acceptance. In making application we see that when we repent of our sins and ask Jesus to save us - that same presence of the Lord (that filled the temple) now fills our Body which is - the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Peace of God flooded the temple is the same peace of God that floods our soul and we know that we have been redeemed. How about you? Have you been saved and experienced the presence of the Lord in you heart? If not, would you be saved today? Let us learn from our text today and the example of the Temple being filled with smoke to realize the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that happens when we are saved.

Follow the Lord's Instruction
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 4. In our text today we see Solomon continuing the construction of the temple. This building was made on a massive scale to specific instruction from the Lord. The instruction was to the future uses of the temple to accommodate the sacrifices and thousands to visit on the feasts like the Passover. In all the instruction God had a plan led up to the sacrifice of the lamb of God, Jesus Christ. God had a plan and the instruction in the construction was part of that plan. Solomon had no vast knowledge of things to come yet he was instructed to obey God and he did to the letter of the instruction. In making application we see that God has a plan for you, your life, and future Christian events that you will be a part of. We have the Bible and instruction from the Lord. We need to be as Solomon and the craftsmen of the temple to follow the Lords instructions to the best of our ability so the Lord can bring His plan for our lives to be fulfilled. How about you? Do you follow the Lords instructions for your life? Let us learn from out text today and the construction of the temple to be reminded to follow the Lords instructions.

Give God Your Best
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 3. In our text today we see Solomon beginning the construction of the temple. In the construction we see the best materials used of Gold and fine linens all to give Glory to God for who He is and what He has done. In making application we see how we express our love and adoration in what we give to our Lord, His Work, and His House. Do we give God our best in our treasures, time, and talents to express your love to Him. How about you? Do you give God your best? Let us learn from our text today and the building of the temple to remember what we Give to God expresses how much we love the Lord. Let us Give God our Best.

Prepare the Way
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 2. In our text today we see Solomon beginning to build the temple and in this this text we see the plans of the Construction. In preparation Solomon had the advantage of David preparing the way as he bought the land and gathered most of the materials. As we learned - God would not allow David to build due to his transgressions but he was allowed to prepare the way and as a result Solomon had a tremendous advantage to accomplish this task. In making application we see that we can work together in the Church to accomplish the will of God. If everyone in the Church examples the life of David then we will see the body reach many souls with the Gospel. How about you? Do you love the Lord and in doing so help prepare the way for the Church to succeed? Let us learn from David's example and Solomon's efforts of success to prepare the way for the advancement of the Gospel.

Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we start the book of 2nd. Chronicles chapter 1. In our text today we see the reign of Solomon as he asks God for Wisdom. What catches my eye is the request of Solomon. He could of requested anything but he acknowledged God as the source of all information asking Him for His Wisdom. It reminds me of:

James 1:5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

In making application we see that we can ask God for wisdom. If we ask we have God's Word that he will give us direction and guidance from His Word. How about you? Do you ask God for wisdom? Let us learn from our text today and the life of Solomon to ask God for Wisdom.

Where is Your Treasure ?
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 29. In our text today we see the people bring gifts to the temple, David praising God, and David dying of old age. As David passes he left his personal fortune to the temple and this sacrifice caused others to give. His life proved the text of Matthew 6:21 "for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." In making application we see that the giving of our resources to the Lords work is a thermometer of how much we love the Lord. It reminds me of the man who gave the funds to start this ministry. This man now gives $8000 a month to missions as a result the Lord has made him a wealthy man. The more the Lord gives him the more he gives away. How about you? Do you see that what we give the Lord is a reflection on our love toward him? Let us learn from our text today and the Life of David to see that where a mans treasure is, there will be your heart also

Support the Work of the Church
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 28. In our text today we see the David instructing Solomon about the Temple. What catches my eye the support that David gave to the work of God as he was not allowed to personally build the temple due to transgressions in his life. This did not discourage David, rather it motivated him to see the project forward as he gave his resources, time, input, and wisdom to this work. In making application we see a work to be done at the house of God, today's Church. With the instruction of the Bible and the leader, or Pastor, we are to support the work of God with same effort as David did. We might not like every program of our Churches but we are to support the Church and the work of God with David's zeal. How about you? Do you support the work of God through the Church. Let us learn from our text today and the example of David to Support the work of the Church with our time, talents, resources, and our labor.

Follow God Not Man
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 27. In our text today we see the Commanders of the Army, the Offices of the tribe, and the Administrators of the kingdom. What catches my eye is when Absalom rebelled against David we see Hudhai pretending to be Absalom's friend deceived into his downfall. In making application we see the importance of following the Lord's Word verses following man. Many will deceive you to follow their own agenda leaving you to gain advantage. Simply trust the Lord. How about you? Do you follow the advice of Man or God? Let us leard from our text today to make sure we are careful to follow God's Word verses man's advice.

What is Your Ministry?
Each day we walk through the Bible chapter by chapter making an application of our text to help us grow in the Lord. Many applications can be made from each day's text. Today we continue in the book of 1st. Chronicles chapter 26. In our text today we see the duties of the temple guards, officials, and others who served in the house of God. What catches my eye is the is verse 12 where it is reported that the porters "ministered" in the house of God. This word minister simply means "to serve". In making application we see that we need to be a part of the Church through salvation. Then we are to be a part of the body in, not only attendance, but also service. Simply put, we are to have a ministry in the House of God that the Spirit of God will direct us into. It might be greeting, encouraging, teaching, ushering, preaching, praying, etc. No matter how big or small your ministry the Lord works all the body together to do His Will. It reminds me of when I started going to Church regularly at the age of 20, I asked the Lord what he would have me to do and he placed me at the coffee pot greeting the folks that came to Church. As I greeted faithfully the Lord increased my responsibilities to the position I perform today. How about you? Do you have a Ministry in the House of God? Let us learn from our text today and the life of David to realize the Lord has a ministry for you.

Our vision and mission is to distribute His Word in these last of the last days. Our Mission is to reach the 1/2 of the World who has never seen a Bible and the 75% of the World who does not own a Bible. Our Method is to simply depend on the Holy Spirit for direction and guidance as we inform the Body of Christ of the World Wide Bible Shortage. As the Holy Spirit burdens believers we will print, purchase, and recycle older Bibles, then network with Ministries and Missionaries to place Bibles in the hands of needy souls.  A special thanks to our Friends at the Spread the Word Bible College & Seminary for the Honorary Doctors of Divinity Degree. It a great honor to be associated with your University. Please contact me with any need, question, or concerns. My Personal email is info@bibles4free.com
